Are you an Outlaw? Meet Bonnelle Martin
Bonnelle Martin
Bonnelle Martin, Associate Director - Marketing and Brand at Baker Botts, is a legal marketing and brand strategist who enjoys solving complex problems through creativity, technology, and thoughtful communication. Over the course of her career, she has evolved from designer to strategic marketing leader, partnering with attorneys, business professionals, and firm leadership to build brands, launch initiatives, and deliver meaningful client experiences.
She is energized by learning—whether exploring emerging technologies like AI, improving processes, or finding better ways to tell a story. She believes the best ideas come from staying curious, asking thoughtful questions, and never being afraid to learn something new.
Outside of work, Bonnelle enjoys traveling, exploring the outdoors, and planning adventures with her people. Those experiences keep her grounded and continually remind her that growth comes from curiosity, perspective, and a willingness to step outside her comfort zone.
Q: What is your idea of happiness?
A: Sharing time in nature with the people I love. Being outdoors helps me decompress and recharge, and it reminds me to keep the day-to-day in perspective and focus on what matters most.
Q: Who is your real-life hero?
A: My mom. I’ve watched her move through life taking on the changes as challenges to always do better, be better.
Q: What is your motto?
A: Find the good… in everything and everyone.
Q: Where would you like to live?
A: As a current Texas resident on a 100-degree day, anywhere with all four seasons. The longer the spring and fall, the better, and I wouldn’t turn down a mountain or lake view.
Q: What is your greatest fear?
A: Losing the people I love.
Q: To what faults do you feel most indulgent?
A: I can absolutely be overly analytical and spend a bunch of time researching before deciding.
Q: Finish this sentence: “If I could have one super-power, it would be...”
A: At the risk of being redundant to previous outlaw answers, it would be teleportation. I’d love to be able to remove barriers to travel.
Q: Who are your favorite authors or what are your favorite books?
A: Favorite author is Erik Larson. I found him through Isaac’s Storm and fell in love with The Devil in the White City.
Q: What got you into working in the legal industry?
A: Believe it or not, a Craigslist ad. My first job in the legal industry was designing firm websites and campaigns at Content Pilot. From there, I moved in house and continued to learn the technology and skills which grew the types of deliverables I could provide.
Q: Your favorite musician or band?
A: Tom Petty – the album Wildflowers is the best road trip soundtrack there is.
Q: Your favorite virtue?
A: Natural curiosity and a willingness to experience deeply, learning from the people and world around you.
Q: What would you consider your greatest achievement?
A: Showing my nieces how strong and capable they are by taking one of them with me on an adventure every summer. We’ve definitely pushed them outside their comfort zones doing everything from white water rafting, fishing, skiing, canyoneering, rappelling, and wheeling. When the middle one said they wanted to do something simple, the oldest reminded her that “these trips are for exploring and growing.” I couldn’t have been prouder than in that moment.
Q: Finish this sentence: “If I won the lottery tomorrow, I would...”
A: I would… take care of my loved ones, set up a home-base in the mountains, invest, and travel full-time.
