Who has redefined what it means to think outside of the law (AKA Outlaw) and is helping each of us in the process?
Meet Scott Love, President of The Attorney Search Group. Scott works with global law firms in major markets to help them recruit partners in the area of private equity and related practices. He has been recruiting since 1995 and also enjoys speaking professionally at corporate, association, and legal conferences on the topics of client development, recruiting, and culture. Scott has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Bloomberg, The American Lawyer, and dozens of business publications across the globe. He is the author of Why They Follow and co-author of Rainmaker Confidential. Scott also is the host and producer of The Rainmaking Podcast, a top 2 percent show on client development. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, and is a former surface warfare officer. He has two children and lives with his wife and daughter in Midlothian, Virginia.

Q: What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
A: Not caring about others. Selfishness.
Q: Where would you like to live?
A: My lovely wife and I live in Hallsley in Midlothian, VA, which is a great place to live with our daughter being 12 and entering seventh grade next year. When she leaves the home, my wife and I may get a place in either Old Towne Alexandria or Manhattan, and Scottsdale during the winter. But then again I lived in Asheville, NC, for ten years and may just move back to the mountains.
Q: What is your idea of happiness?
A: Contentment regardless of the circumstances.
Q: What is your motto?
A: Do a good turn daily (which is the slogan of the Boy Scouts).
Q: To what faults do you feel most indulgent?
A: The fault of chasing the newest shiny object that comes across my path and losing focus.
Q: What got you into working in the legal industry?
A: I like talking to smart and interesting people.
Q: What is your current state of mind?
A: Contentment.

A: Empathy.
