LVNxElevates: Empowering Legal Professionals to Lead from the Center

This year’s Legal Value Network (LVNx) conference, held September 24–26 at the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk, brought together innovators and changemakers from across the legal industry under the theme “LVNxElevates: Deepening Knowledge, Advancing Skills, Strengthening Relationships.”

From value-based pricing and data analytics to AI and purpose-driven leadership, the sessions reflected a shared mission, to advance the business of law through collaboration, innovation, and measurable impact. The atmosphere was electric with conversation and connection, as professionals explored how to align business strategy, technology, and client value in a rapidly evolving landscape.

I had the privilege of moderating a panel discussion titled “From Behind the Scenes to the Center Stage: Elevating Your Impact and Proving Your Value in the Legal Industry.” Our conversation focused on how legal business professionals can shift from traditional support roles to strategic leadership positions by reframing their contributions and amplifying their visibility.

Panelists shared practical strategies for strengthening influence and communicating value in ways that resonate with firm leadership. The discussion highlighted how intentional storytelling, data-backed insights, and relationship-building can redefine how business professionals are seen within their organizations.

Key takeaways included:

  • Strategies to elevate your role and visibility within the firm

  • Techniques for measuring and communicating ROI and ROE

  • Tools to position yourself as a strategic contributor, not just a support function

  • Real-world insights on gaining influence and recognition

  • Inspiration to lead change and shape the future of legal services

The LVNx community continues to be a powerful force for elevating the business of law. I left inspired by the collective drive to push boundaries, foster collaboration, and continue strengthening the relationships that move our profession forward.
