Q: What is your idea of happiness?

A: Nothing beats time with my family. Second to that? The rare, glorious moment when everything is checked off my to-do list, from the work deadlines to the laundry, and I can finally relax. It doesn’t happen often, which is exactly why I savor it when it does.

Q: What is your motto?

A: My motto right now is ‘Good, Better, Best.’ I’m a huge Chicago Bears fan, and I love the chant Head Coach Ben Johnson leads in the locker room after a win. It works for any team, on the field or off.

Q: Who are your favorite authors and what are your favorite books?

A: I mostly listen to audiobooks, usually while driving or running. When I want a break from anything work-related, I go for rock ’n’ roll and sports biographies, or spy and military thrillers from authors like Jack Carr, Brad Thor, and Vince Flynn.

Q: If you could have dinner with one person, dead or alive, who would it be?

A: As I am answering this, the baseball playoffs are heating up and the football season is in full swing, so I’ll pick Bo Jackson. His story is one I never get tired of. I’d want to know if the myths and legends about his athletic feats are true, and what it was like to dominate two sports while also being a pop culture icon. He also seems like a genuinely humble guy, so I think he’d be a great dinner companion, and I would be entertained for hours.

Q: What got you into working in the legal industry?

A: I fell into legal marketing because I grew up around the law. My father was an attorney, so law firm life felt familiar from the start. The industry has changed a lot over the years, but what keeps me here is that every day is different. You never know what’s coming, and that keeps the work interesting and challenging.
