Are You an Outlaw? Meet Katie Munroe
Who has redefined what it means to think outside the law (AKA Outlaw) and is helping each of us in the process?

Enjoy getting to know this Outlaw!
Q: Where would you like to live?
A: I had the good fortune of posting up at our beach house to work for roughly six weeks in the Summer of 2021. Having the opportunity to walk my fun-loving mini Australian Shepherd, Phife, on the sand bars before settling in at my desk for the day was the ultimate for me. Eventually, I’d love to find a way to make that a more permanent set up.
Q: What is your greatest fear?
A: Living in a world without cheese.
Q: Finish this sentence: “If I could have one super-power, it would be…”
A: …to solve the American issue of gun control.
Q: Who are your favorite authors or what are your favorite books?
A: I am a voracious reader, so it’s hard to pick just one. I am in awe of Isabel Wilkerson and grateful to her for shedding light on so many deeply complicated and difficult histories and issues. I feel completely swept away reading anything by author and poet, Ocean Vuong (and especially getting to hear Ocean read his own work). I am a Jonathan Franzen fan when I want to feel the feels and a Taylor Jenkins Reid fan when I’m looking for beachy, brain candy.
Q: If you could have dinner with one person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
A: Stacey Abrams. Working with lawyers has turned me into a lawyer fan girl, but when you add into the mix feminist, voting rights activist, author, a good sense of humor, and an incredible sense of resilience… well, does it get any better than that? She is not yet 50 years old and already, she has accomplished so much - personally, professionally, and politically. I would love to hear what drives her, what keeps her motivated (and sane), and what she does for fun.
Q: Your favorite virtue?
A: Cognitive empathy. Whether at home, at work, or in the world, our lives have the potential to be so much happier and richer when we try to appreciate and understand the perspectives of - and what drives - others.
