Are You an Outlaw? Meet Adam Severson
Who has redefined what it means to think outside the law (aka OUTLAW) and is helping each of us in the process? Meet Adam Severson, Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer at Baker Donelson, a firm of more than 800 attorneys across 25 offices. Adam has more than a decade of legal experience, and is the Immediate Past President of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA). We asked Adam a few questions and his answers can be found below. Enjoy getting to know this Outlaw! Q: What is your idea of happiness? A: The perfect balance of working hard and playing hard. Knowing that I have to have fun and enjoy what I do while bringing my A game everyday. Which then provides the ability and flexibility to sustain my travel and wine habits and my kids' perceived primal needs for iTunes and Pokemon cards.
Q: Where would you like to live? A: Florence, Italy. Q: What is your motto? A: Work hard, play hard. Q: Share something that you’ve done in the past that set you apart from your peers? A: I've worked hard to tap into my network (neighbors, friends, former firm alums) to see how we might develop relationships and how my firm can be helpful--just like we recommend to our lawyers. This has resulted in millions of dollars of revenue for the firm where I serve as the primary point of contact for several firm clients.
Q: What is your greatest fear? A: Being irrelevant and not even knowing it.
Q: Finish this sentence, If I could have one super-power, it would be .... A: Not sure if this is technically a super-power, but teleporting. I love to travel! It would be amazing to be able to teleport to Italy or China or Napa without the onerous investment of time and money required to get there. So, perhaps flying would be my super-power, but flying super fast!
Q: Who is your real life hero? A: My dad, Dennis. He was a big, jovial personality and astute observer of his surroundings. He was comfortable in his own skin which made everyone comfortable being with him. This coupled with his sage advice and extraordinary work ethic drives me to be half the man he was!
Q: Finish this sentence- if I won the lottery tomorrow I would... A: Get on an airplane with a bunch of friends and go to wine country!
