Charlotte, North Carolina-based consultant Jill Huse said firms’ need to attract associates to Southeastern cities is driving raises and bonuses in the region.

“I do think we’re going to see a trend in the Southeast,” Huse said, emphasizing firms’ need to retain associate talent during periods of high demand. “When we look back at 2008, at the height of the legal market, we did see a lot of Southeastern firms paying at the same scale as New York firms.”
