ARE YOU AN OUTLAW? MEET JENNIFER LARIVEE

WHO HAS REDEFINED WHAT IT MEANS TO THINK OUTSIDE THE LAW (AKA OUTLAW) AND IS HELPING EACH OF US IN THE PROCESS?

Meet Jennifer Larivee, Chief Marketing Officer at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. Jennifer has been in both marketing and business development roles during her 14 year tenure with the firm. Prior to joining Akin Gump, she was the marketing director for one of California’s top litigation boutiques representing plaintiffs, where she oversaw all aspects of marketing, communications and client development.

Before entering legal marketing, where she joined her passion for the law with her love of business, Jennifer ran the operations of a dot-com entertainment company. She has also worked in marketing for an entertainment company and in the Good Housekeeping  editorial department of  magazine. She earned both her AB and JD at Washington University.

Enjoy getting to know this Outlaw!

Q: Where would you like to live?
A: On the beach, specifically Carmel-by-the-Sea or the north shore of Kauai.

Q: What is your idea of happiness?
A: A long walk on the beach at sunset with my husband, daughter and Dalmatian. (You can see a theme developing, can’t you?!)

Q: To what faults do you feel most indulgent?
A: I have a ribbon closet. I buy beautiful ribbons to wrap presents and hopefully make the recipient feel that much more special.

Q: Finish this sentence: “If I could have one super-power, it would be...”
A: To be in two places at once so I would never miss a family event but could also meet all my work and personal obligations.

Q: If you could have dinner with one person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
A: Can I say two people? It would be my two best girlfriends. I have been best friends with one since I was 12 and the other since I was 18. Nothing can replace longstanding friendships.

Q: Your favorite musician or band?
A: Changing this slightly. My favorite song is ‘Lovely Day’ by Bill Withers, with ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’ by Elton John and Kiki Dee as a close runner up.

Q: Your favorite virtue?
A: I have two: Honesty and trustworthiness.
