Q: What is your motto?
A: Kill ‘em with kindness. Living life with a positive mindset and understanding that happiness is within your control are two of the best lessons I have learned. I try to impart them on others. In line with this, I’ll share my favorite quote from one of my favorite movies, “Smile – it increases your face value!”
Q: What is your greatest fear?
A: Not living up to my full potential in all areas of my life. As a working mother, I have learned that splitting time evenly isn’t the formula for achieving balance and success. If only it could be that easy! Flexibility, support and mindfulness are important. Whether I am at a dance recital, sport event, preparing for a client board meeting or volunteering in the community, I try to be fully in the moment.
Q: Who are your favorite authors/what are your favorite books?
A: The Alchemist by Paulo Cohelo and anything Jhumpa Lahiri has written because she does a great job of illustrating the juxtaposition of Indian culture with western (American) culture.
Q: What got you into working in the legal industry?
A: After graduating with my MBA, I moved to Washington, D.C. I wasn’t a politician, lobbyist or lawyer like nearly everyone around me. I started working in law firm finance and as I learned about the business of law, I became intrigued. Timing was right…I soon found a niche and calling to help create this world that is now known as Legal Pricing.
Q: Your favorite virtue?
A: Patience (and if I can list two, the other is kindness).
Q: What would you consider your greatest achievement?
A: (1) Raising tiny humans to be good citizens of the world. (2) Mastering how to make the most perfect falafel at home that comes pretty darn close to one of my favorite haunts in New York City: Mamoun’s Falafel. And… (3) Recapping my entire year in poetic verse as our family’s annual Christmas greeting letter for the last 15 years.
