We asked Megan a few questions, and her answers can be found below. Enjoy getting to know this Outlaw!
Q: Where would you like to live?
A: South! Islamorada in the Florida Keys is my happy place. Charleston SC is a close second.
Q: What is your idea of happiness?
A: Finding contentment at each stage of life. Preferably finding this contentment somewhere sunny with a drink in hand!
Q: What is your motto?
A: There are two that come to mind anytime I have found myself treading uncertain times (becoming a mom, unpleasant situations, the year 2020). “This too shall pass” is what I always tell myself; it’s not always going to be this way. My second is “be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.” When there is that one thing tugging at your heart, drive towards that dream or goal passionately.
Q: What got you into working in the legal industry?
A: As with a lot of industry colleagues starting out, I pretty much fell into the legal marketing industry by chance. I have an IT minor and in the summer of 2003 I interviewed with Benesch for an IT internship. They ended up being at capacity but said their Marketing department, under the leadership of Darryl Cross at the time, needed an intern. I landed the internship and was introduced to the world of legal marketing which fared well with my Business Administration/Marketing degree that I was majoring in. I interned during the following summer and in 2005, after graduating from college, I was offered a full time position. The great Jeanne Hammerstrom came on board six months later and the rest is history…here we are 15 years later!
Q: Your favorite musician or band?
A: My parents always had music on while growing up so there are too many favorite musicians and bands to choose from, but I’m a country girl at heart and could listen to Eric Church all day every day.
Q: Your favorite virtue?
A: Courage/bravery and compassion. It’s a crazy world we are living and raising the next generation up in. Being brave enough to be who you are while showing compassion and empathy for others is something I am always trying to instill in my son. Kindness costs nothing!
