Who has redefined what it means to think outside the law (aka OUTLAW) and is helping each of us in the process?
Meet Christine N. Harris, Director of Marketing at Kane Russell Coleman Logan PC. For more than 20 years, Christine has been immersed in the legal industry helping firms excel in their business development and marketing efforts. She has also been an active leader within the Legal Marketing Association serving in a variety of roles within the Texas Chapter.
Below is an excerpt of a recent interview we conducted with Christine. Enjoy getting to know this Outlaw!
Q: Where would you like to live?
A: Anywhere near a beach with blue water and a constant breeze.
Q: What is your idea of happiness?
A: Enjoying life with family and friends. Love and lots of laughter is like a hug that literally warms my soul.
Q: Who is your real life hero?
A: Without a doubt, my Mom. She has always encouraged me to be embrace life and be who I am. She is the epitome of all things I strive to be when it comes to being a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend!
Q: What is your motto?
A: “Feel the fear and do it anyway!”
Q: What is your greatest fear?
A: Something happening to my little ones.
Q: To what faults do you feel most indulgent?
A: I have a hard time saying “no”…
Q: Finish this sentence: “If I could have one superpower, it would be…”
A: Telekinesis!
Q: Who are your favorite authors or what are your favorite books?
A: Wow, I have such a range. I enjoy reading all kinds of fiction, true crime, autobiographies and more! Zora Neale Hurston, Chinua Achebe, James Patterson, Maya Angelou, John Grisham… I can go on.
Q: If you could have dinner with one person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
A: Maya Angelou. She was graceful and poised. Her versatility at various points in her life showed just how important it is to keep rising despite the many obstacles you will encounter. She showed that opportunities for black women – all women - are boundless – just keep going.
Q: What got you into working in the legal industry?
A: I literally fell into it. I randomly connected with the Communications Director, at the time, at Fulbright & Jaworski. She and the Marketing Director asked if I would be interested in an interview and gave me a chance, even when I told them I had no idea what legal marketing was! The rest is history.
Q: Your favorite musician or band?
A: ...mmm. I don’t necessarily have a favorite. My mood is my temperature gauge in deciding what I ultimately listen to at any moment in time.
Q: What is your current state of mind?
A: Incredibly grateful
Q: Your favorite virtue?
A: Kindness
Q: What would you consider your greatest achievement?
A: By far, the two little ones who made me a Mom and not to mention, working full-time while completing my MBA. There is still so much more to do, places to go and friends to meet, so there is no limit to what comes next!
