Below is a recent interview conducted with Amanda. Enjoy getting to know this Outlaw!

Q: Where would you like to live?
A: I would love to have a summer place in Montana near the mountains. Minnesota winters have ruined me so I would have to escape to Arizona during the winter.

Q: What is your idea of happiness?
A: Happy kids, no technology, travel adventures, and delicious food (that I don't have to cook). Last year as a family, we went tent camping on the shore of Lake Superior in northeastern Minnesota. Waking up to waves crashing against the rocks and spending the day hiking in Superior National Forest was close enough to perfect for me.

Q: Who are your favorite authors or what are your favorite books?
A: The Nightingale and Winter Garden, both by Kristin Hannah, are two of my absolute favorites. When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi is also a must read.

Q: What got you into working in the legal industry?
A: I started my professional career at an investment banking firm where we helped business owners sell their companies. Sitting at the closing table, I quickly realized the vital role that an M&A attorney plays in that transaction. Our firm brought the right buyers to the table and then the attorneys made the deal happen. I wanted to be a part of that.

Q: Who is your favorite musician or band?
A: I am a huge fan of all music – country, rock, rap, worship. I love how music can take us back in time, or remind us of a loved one that is no longer with us, or help us honor a special day. Eric Church has a song called Springsteen and there is a verse that says, "Funny how a melody sounds like a memory". It's so true. Every time I hear Kenny Chesney, I think of my mom. And Etta James, I think of my wedding. What a cool thing that music can do!
