Are You an Outlaw? Meet Steve Kaplan

Who is breaking the mold within the legal industry? Who has redefined what it means to think outside the law (aka OUTLAW) and is helping each of us in the process? Meet Steve Kaplan, Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Legal Officer at CLIENTSFirst Consulting. In his role, Steve is responsible for both day-to-day operations and the future expansion of the organization. He works with the firm's consultants to ensure delivery of outstanding services to top law firms across the country in support of their Business Development efforts. We asked Steve a few questions and his answers can be found below. Enjoy getting to know this Outlaw! Q: Where would you like to live? A: I actually really love Florida, even after living here so long.

Q: What is your idea of happiness? A: A great family and building businesses with cool people doing innovative things!

Q: Who is your real life hero? A: My grandfather was a brilliant man and a world class attorney that had a keen sense of ethics. I admired him greatly.

Q: What is your motto? A: Challenge everything. Never settle for the status quo.

Q: What is your greatest fear? A: Dying young, not being around for my family.

Q: To what faults do you feel most indulgent? A: Carbs and sweets, the bad stuff.

Q: Who are your favorite authors/what are your favorite books? A: Anything by Hiassen. Or John D. McDonald. I love FL authors!

Q: If you could have dinner with one person, dead or alive, who would it be and why? A: I am a huge fan of Shakespeare and I think that he would be really interesting to truly know. The class politics of his time and the way his mind processed the world always intrigued me.

Q: What got you into working in the legal industry? A: I went to law school because I had no idea what to do with a degree in English, I came back as a service provider for the opportunity to work with Chris Fritsch and the team at CLIENTSFirst. Q: Your favorite musician/ band? A: Radiohead

Q: What is your current state of mind? A: Always hustling.

Q: Your favorite virtue? A: I lack it, but I admire people with tremendous patience.

Q: What would you consider your greatest achievement? A: I have tremendous success maintaining great relationships with employees long after the days when I managed them.

Q: Finish this sentence - if I won the lottery tomorrow I would... A: Live a debt-free life, travel more, relax a bit (for a change).

Q: Who would you have liked to be? A: Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), just to be the best guitarist of all time. To feel what it is like to be at the top of my game like he was (1960s-1970s) And he is still around, which is nice.
