Are You an Outlaw? Meet Anna Hedgepeth
Who has redefined what it means to think outside the law (aka OUTLAW) and is helping each of us in the process? Meet Anna Hedgepeth, Director of Business Development for Cranfill Sumner and Hartzog LLP, a North Carolina civil litigation firm with offices across the state. Anna often describes herself as unapologetically enthusiastic. In addition to her enthusiasm, she is a licensed attorney who loves to crunch numbers and think outside of the box for unique ways to better serve clients and inspire attorneys in their marketing and development endeavors. We asked her a few questions and her answers can be found below. Enjoy getting to know this Outlaw!
Q: What is your idea of happiness?
A: The smile on my son’s face when I walk through the door every day!
Q: What is your motto?
A: Work Hard. Be Kind. Listen More Than You Speak. Anyone who works with me knows that I’m quick to say: “I’m more interested in winning the war than the battle.”
Q: Share something that you’ve done in the past that set you apart from your peers? A: In law school (yes, I’m also a licensed attorney) I was student body president and in charge of securing a graduation speaker. I was able to book the current Governor of North Carolina to speak! It was a first for the law school.
Q: Always by the book or an occasional cheater? A: Always by the book.
Q: Always paying attention or do you daydream? A: According to my husband I’m always paying attention and I don’t miss a beat, but I think of myself as a dreamer.
Q: What is your greatest fear? A: Not being able to see my son grow up.
Q: Finish this sentence, If I could have one super-power, it would be... A: ...to be invisible! I always say “I’d love to be a fly on the wall” in certain situations. It would be great to be invisible if you needed to go somewhere and didn’t have time to fix your hair or makeup.

Q: What is your current state of mind? A: Thankful.
Q: Your favorite virtue? A: Humility.
Q: What would you consider your greatest achievement? A: My personal greatest achievement is my family. My professional greatest achievement is to be given a Director level job at the age of 31.
Q: Who is your real life hero? A: Jesus Christ.
Q: Finish this sentence - if I won the lottery tomorrow I would... A: ...probably stop working and anyone who says differently is probably lying! :)
A North Carolina native, Anna attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Campbell Law School. Prior to entering the legal industry she worked in public relations. In law school she served as student body president. She is actively involved in her community and serves as the Chair of the Legal Marketing Association Raleigh/Triad City Group, Chairs the Signature Events Committee for the Friends of WakeMed group, and serves on the board for the Triangle Literacy Council. In her spare time you can find her with her boys (she’s all about the Benjamins!), running, cooking, painting, or reading.
