End of Summer | Preparing for a Busy Season

As we look to the end of summer and start of fall - a traditionally busy time in the legal industry - you may be feeling a bit overwhelmed at the influx of projects, events, firm initiatives and attorney needs that are approaching. So how do you and your team prepare to tackle it?

  1. Lists are your friend. Overwhelm is almost certain when your list of tasks, calls to make, projects being juggled and other various odds and ends are floating aimlessly in your brain. Do a brain dump - write down every last thing you can think of and do a quick organization of the items. Then, see if you can delegate, defer or delete anything.

  2. Take a breather. Remember that you, just like everyone else in the world, have a limited number of hours in the day. Prioritize what you need to get done first - the most important and time sensitive items - and be ok with letting the other things wait until you can devote your time and attention to them. When things start to feel overwhelming, take 30 seconds to do some deep breathing. We promise, you can spare the time!

  3. Utilize your resources. Perhaps you can delegate to others on your team. There may be other departments in your firm that need to be pulled in for specific projects. Can AI help out in any way? Are there automations that need to be set? Maybe there is a project or two you need to get off your plate completely and are worth the cost to outsource so they can be done more efficiently. Consider each project independently and get creative with your solutions (hint: maybe we can help!).
