Time + Productivity

Enhancing personal productivity is a challenge at all stages of your career, let alone in your personal life. How you spend your time will evolve and develop as your life hits milestones. But much like diet and exercise regimens, you can get stuck in a routine that is not serving you well. It can be helpful to evaluate your connection with time every so often to restart or recharge your relationship to it. Here are some quick self-assessing statements you can ask yourself:

  • Starting today I am eliminating these phrases from my vocabulary to change my relationship with time: "I'm just too busy," and "I don't have enough time to get it all done."

  • This week I am going to ask for 1 hour of help from _____ to help with _____.

  • Starting today, I am done with _____.

  • The most important task I am going to accomplish today is _____.

  • This week I am going to batch the following tasks on my to-do list: _____.

Stop being a victim of time. There is no way for you to be a conscious creator of time if you are also a slave to it. You must take full ownership, meaning you must completely change the way you think about, speak about and feel about it. This week try out a "no time complaining" diet, and see what improvements and benefits you notice.
