First Impressions

First impressions are lasting impressions.

It is for this reason that we all need to ensure that our first impressions are positive and intentional. Consider the basic ways we greet someone upon meeting: a smile, an introduction, small conversation. How is your small talk? What about your facial expressions? Do you make eye contact? How do you introduce yourself and explain what you do for clients? Is it something you have thought about beforehand and practiced, or do you find yourself stumbling through it each time?

These are all small acts that each of us can and should practice regularly. Make sure that those initial interactions are those that you want others to remember about you; because odds are, they will.
